Terms & Conditions
Please read these terms and conditions carefully before booking a tour with You First Tours.
Welcome to You First Tours. By accessing our website or booking a tour with us, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions. These terms govern the relationship between you (the client) and You First Tours (the travel agency).
1. Booking and Payments
- A booking is considered confirmed only upon receipt of a deposit payment (usually 30% of the total tour cost, unless stated otherwise).
- The remaining balance must be paid prior to your arrival or upon arrival in Sri Lanka, as agreed during the booking process.
- Payments can be made via bank transfer, credit card (via a secure payment gateway), or in cash upon arrival (if explicitly agreed).
2. Cancellations and Refunds
If you need to cancel your booking, the following cancellation policy generally applies:
- Cancellations made 30 days or more before arrival: Full refund of the deposit (minus bank transaction charges).
- Cancellations made 15 to 29 days before arrival: 50% of the deposit is non-refundable.
- Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival: 100% of the deposit is non-refundable.
- Special conditions may apply for peak seasons (December to February) or specific luxury hotels. Any customized cancellation policies provided directly in your quotation will override these general terms.
3. Passports, Visas, and Health
- It is the client’s responsibility to ensure they possess a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended date of departure from Sri Lanka.
- Clients are responsible for obtaining the necessary Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) or Visa for Sri Lanka prior to arrival.
- Clients must ensure they meet any health or vaccination requirements necessary to enter Sri Lanka. You First Tours is not liable for any delays, cancellations, or denied entries caused by invalid travel documents.
4. Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical expenses, luggage loss, and emergency evacuation. You First Tours does not provide travel insurance and cannot be held liable for any unforeseen medical emergencies or losses incurred during your trip.
5. Liability and Responsibility
You First Tours acts strictly as an agent for the suppliers (hotels, transport providers, activity operators) providing the services outlined in your itinerary. We take utmost care in selecting these suppliers.
However, we accept no liability for any injury, loss, damage, accident, delay, or irregularity that may be caused to person or property by any defect in any vehicle, or through the negligence or default of any company or person engaged in conveying the passenger or carrying out the arrangements of the tour.
6. Force Majeure
You First Tours cannot accept liability or pay compensation where the performance or prompt performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by "force majeure". Such events include but are not limited to war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire, pandemic restrictions, and all similar events outside our control.
7. Itinerary Changes
While every effort is made to adhere to the confirmed itinerary, local conditions (such as extreme weather, road closures, or unannounced site closures) may necessitate alterations. You First Tours reserves the right to modify the itinerary or substitute accommodations with properties of a similar standard when necessary. We will always inform you of any changes as soon as possible.
